FC Barcelona is pleased to announce that it has ensured its compliance processes through the award of ISO 37301:2021 and UNE 19601:2017 certifications by AENOR. These are two key tools for strengthening the trust of its members. It thus becomes the first sports organisation in Spain (also including federations and regulatory bodies) to reach the highest levels of compliance, demonstrating its full commitment to implementing an ethical and responsible culture within its governance model, in line with the club’s Code of Ethics.

By obtaining the ISO 37301:2021 standard (the first sports organisation to do so), the club is able to certify its regulatory compliance, offering partner organisations a framework and guidelines for establishing, implementing, evaluating, maintaining and improving management systems, ensuring proper compliance at both local and international levels. The UNE 19601:2017 certification, which covers criminal compliance, confirms that the club has a comprehensive, robust and effective compliance management system in place to prevent and manage criminal risks, money laundering, and child protection, in accordance with the highest legal standards.

Commitment to transparency and ethical management

Since 2016, FC Barcelona has had a Compliance Department tasked with preventing, detecting, and managing primarily criminal risks that could give rise to legal liability in the course of its regular activities. It also promotes internal programmes and protocols relating to areas such as employment, taxation, and the environment, as well as sports-specific initiatives, such as the Child Protection System. This pioneering initiative, launched in 2022, creates a framework of both direct and indirect protection for nearly 200,000 children involved in various areas of the club’s activities (La Masia, Barça Academy, amateur sports) and the Foundation. The Compliance Department also promotes good governance within the club through the dissemination of the the FC Barcelona Code of Ethics.

This governance framework helps reinforce the trust of members, who can be assured that the club operates with rigour, integrity, and responsibility in all areas. It also provides confidence and credibility among employees, sponsors, institutions, and society at large, consolidating FC Barcelona’s commitment to exemplary conduct both on and off the pitch.

With this recognition, the club has consolidated its institutional leadership of a transparent, responsible, and ethically committed model.
